What’s for Dinner?

What’s for Dinner?

Have you ever stop to think, and asked yourself, “What is it that I want to eat today?”.  Hmmm, it’s really cold outside this time of the year.  I did and said, “Well, let me make a good hot soup!” Right about this time, my mind took me back to days when families were large and mama and granny would cook all day.  I learned how to prepare their soup because I too had a large family.  Can you go back in time and remember when you used a soup bone for meat? If you answered yes, let us know where you can find a good one today?  These days large families are rare.  But with extended families, there are times when we want a big pot of something good to eat!  So here are the required ingredients:

INGREDIENTS:

Soup Bone

3 Cups of Water

Salt to Taste

Blackpepper

1/2 Stick of Butter

1 Yellow Onion (chopped)

1 Clove of Garlic

2 White Potatoes (cubed)

1/2 Cup of Okra

1 Can Chopped Tomatoes

1 Can Lima Beans (drained)

1 Can of Corn (drained)

1 Can of Tomato Paste

DIRECTIONS:

In a pot add clean soup bone, add water, butter, salt, black pepper, garlic, chopped onion and boil for one hour.  Add other ingredients and continue to cook slow for another hour.
